Katrina Barinova

Cosmetologist and nutritionist

Your skin is a jewel, and caring for it is jeweller's work.

I work with skin and with what lies behind it. A medical education, 18 years of practice and a master's degree in nutrition science let me see not just a line or a breakout, but the reason it appeared.

  • RSUMSc in nutrition science

I answer personally. You can just ask — booking is not required.

Why me

There are many cosmetologists in Riga. Here is what sets my practice apart.

01

Medical education

Bachelor of medical sciences from Rīga Stradiņš University, CIDESCO diploma, advanced training in orthomolecular cosmetology. I understand how skin works physiologically — not just which treatment is currently fashionable.

02

A nutritionist as well

An MSc in nutrition science from RSU — very few specialists in Latvia combine the two. Skin condition is almost always tied to diet, sleep and digestion. I look at them together, not separately.

03

18 years of practice

In cosmetology since 2008, 44 completed courses and certifications, and lecturing to fellow professionals since 2016. Every document is below — I don't hide them.

04

My own room inside a clinic

I run a private practice from my own treatment room within an aesthetic medicine clinic. One specialist, one client at a time: you won't be handed to whichever therapist happens to be free, and you won't be rushed.

Treatments

I don't prescribe what you can do without. During the consultation we choose the shortest sufficient path to the result — allowing for your time and your budget.

The fastest route to a visible result

Injectable methods

Mesotherapy · biorevitalisation · bioreparation · plasma therapy

The principle: rarely, sparingly, and exactly where needed. The result comes from both the preparation itself and the stimulation of points in the skin. More expensive per session, but the course is shorter — so you save both time and money.

Addresses: Age-related changes, dull complexion, dehydration, loss of firmness, scars and stretch marks.

1 to 8 sessionsfrom … €

Working with the skin's own reserves

Device-based methods

Microcurrent · mesoporation · diamond microdermabrasion · RF lifting · OXY jet · vacuum massage · LED therapy

Device treatments activate the skin's own resources: it becomes denser, more elastic, firmer. The first effect is visible immediately, the main one builds up gradually. Combined with injectables, this gives the strongest result.

Addresses: Loss of tone, facial contour, double chin, enlarged pores, puffiness.

Once a week · course of 10from €60 per session

When the result should also be a pleasure

Care treatments

Cleansing · AHA/BHA, retinol and mandelic peels · massage, including lymphatic drainage and Spanish chiromassage · anti-age programmes · pigmentation work

The foundation without which nothing else works. The course is longer, but the sessions are comfortable — many come here as much for the result as for an hour of quiet and care.

Addresses: Skin quality and texture, dryness, dullness, congested pores, teenage skin.

Once a week · course of 6from €60 per session

Other areas

  • Preparation for plastic surgery and recovery afterwards: microcurrent, lymphatic drainage, work with swelling and scarring
  • Treatment protocols: couperose, rosacea, acne, hyperpigmentation, hair loss
  • Nutrition consultation — diet, supplements and lifestyle in relation to your skin
  • Removal of skin growths to be confirmed
  • Hair removal to be confirmed

For men

Men usually want something short and effective: cleansing, treatment of breakouts and couperose, brow shaping. There are also relaxing treatments — if the goal isn't a result but simply to switch off.

How treatments look

Short clips from the practice — so that nothing about your first visit is a surprise.

About me

My name is Katrina Barinova. I am a cosmetologist and nutritionist, and I run a private practice in Riga — from my own treatment room within an aesthetic medicine clinic. Clients also come to me to prepare for plastic surgery and to recover afterwards.

I have a medical education, and that shapes how I work. People come to me about fine lines, and the conversation often turns to food, water, sleep and the thyroid — because skin honestly reflects what is happening inside. A holistic approach isn't a buzzword for me; it is the only way to get a result that lasts.

I don't prescribe expensive treatments for their own sake. If a problem can be solved more simply and cheaply, that is how we'll solve it. And I will always say honestly when cosmetology cannot help and another doctor is needed.

Besides seeing clients, I have been lecturing to fellow cosmetologists at Beauty School since 2016 and keep studying myself — in this profession there is no other way. I am a member of the Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists (LKKA) and the Latvian Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists (LDUSA).

Invest in your appearance wisely. You can replace your boots; your face you cannot.

Frequently asked questions

Does it hurt?

Injectable treatments are noticeable but bearable: I use topical anaesthetic and fine needles. Device-based and care treatments are painless — many people fall asleep during them. If your pain threshold is low, tell me beforehand and we'll choose accordingly.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the goal and the method. Injectables — 1 to 8; device-based — usually a course of 10; care treatments — a course of 6. I'll give you an exact number at the consultation, once I've seen your skin.

Will people be able to tell I've had something done?

My aim is for people to notice that you look well, not that you've been to a cosmetologist. A natural look is a matter of principle here, not a compromise.

How should I prepare for a first visit?

Nothing special. Come without make-up if that's convenient, and be ready to talk openly about your health, medication and diet — all of it affects the choice of treatment.

Are there contraindications?

Yes: pregnancy and breastfeeding, acute inflammation, certain chronic conditions, and some medications. We go through all of this at the consultation beforehand, not afterwards.

Can I come just for a consultation?

Yes. A consultation without a treatment is perfectly normal and quite common. Consultation fee to be confirmed
